The pandemic has caused unprecedented global disruption and fundamentally altered approaches to peacebuilding. It has also brought out new challenges for the survival of the human race. New changes have been made and we are forced to accept these changes to minimize the devastating socio-economic impact. While social distancing requirements are undermining many existing peacebuilding, volunteer, entrepreneurial, and climate action efforts, youth entrepreneurship and innovative approaches are being prioritized. With increasing calls for global solidarity and collaboration to address shared concerns, GPDSA Africa Regional Virtual Summit has been announced.
The Global Peace and Development Service Alliance (GPDSA) has announced its Africa Regional Virtual Summit on April 16 this year. For the summit, GPDSA has partnered with Global Peace Foundation, Blincventures, Chandaria Foundation, International Association for Volunteer Effort (IAVE), and Standard Media Group. The discussions will be held based on the theme of “Environmental Conservation and Entrepreneurship”.
The one-day summit is expected to have over 1000 participants from different sectors. The variations of participants will include peace practitioners and experts, educators, religious leaders, civil society leaders, governmental stakeholders, NGOs, school administrators, and media representatives from countries like Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Nigeria, USA, UK, to share the best practices and lessons learned.
The virtual event will take place from 4 PM to 6 PM (EAT).
