The Community Solutions Program is a program of the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the U.S. Department of State in collaboration with the IREX. It is a fully-funded leadership development program in the U.S. It is for the people in the age group of 25-38 who are working towards bringing change in the local community. The change could be in areas of environment, women, gender, peace and conflict resolution, accountability, and transparency. One must also have at least two years of experience working part-time/full-time/volunteer towards community development.
The selected community leader will get to participate in three different programs: Four month Fellowship in the United States, Community Leadership Institute and Community-based Initiatives. Through the programs, they will be trained to carry out initiatives and projects that cater to the larger community professionally.
It is indeed a great opportunity to meet people from diverse backgrounds and cultures. It is also a coming together of people who share a common goal and it can’t get better than this.
