Female Nepali Entrepreneur selected from Global Startup Weekend Kathmandu

Global Startup Weekend Kathmandu: Women, Girls and SDGs has been successfully concluded on 16th February 2018. Global Startup Weekend Kathmandu: Women, Girls and SDGs is a platform for all the female entrepreneurs who have ideas that support the implementation, monitoring/ evaluation, and achievement of any 17 SDGs. The 17 SDGs are built on the successes of the Millennium Development Goals including new areas such as climate change, economic inequality, sustainable consumption, peace and justice, etc. The SDGs work in the spirit of collaboration to make the right choices now to improve life, in a sustainable way, for future generations. The program aimed of promoting entrepreneurship among women in a nation in which intensive three days (54 hours) mentoring program for the female startups were targeted. On the final round held on 16th February 2018, three best concepts were selected. The three best ideas were Nanny for your Nani, BioPad and Sakshyam with team leaders Aishwarya Pradhan, Vibhustuti Thapa and Sneha Shakya respectively. Anong the three, ‘Nanny for Nani” was selected as the best concept by the judges- Raveena Desraj Shrestha, Assistant Deputy CEO of Mega Bank Nepal Ltd; Renaud Meyer, Country Director of UNDP Nepal and Elizabeth Satow, National Director of World Vision International Nepal. Team Nanny for Nani is now qualified to participate in the global competition to be held in Paris on March 2018 on the occasion of Women’s Day.
